Saint Helen — Life Size Sculptures & Statues
Bronze Maquette 19” high with 9” x9”x1/2” cast bronze base and precious or ancient wood insert. Also known as Flavia Julia Helena Augusta, Saint Helen is patron saint of archeologists, converts, difficult marriages and divorced people. Mother of Constantine the Great, Helen converted to Christianity late in life. She used her position and influence to build schools, churches and performed acts of great charity. At the age of 80 she led a group of pilgrims to Jerusalem to search for the True Cross. When she found a set of crosses at a site on the mound, a gravely ill woman was cured on the spot. Saint Helen died shortly thereafter, having accomplished her mission in life.
